Tonight part two of the season premier of Two and a Half Men aired on CBS. Of course the show picked up where it left off last week. The show is still merely setting the stage for the direction it is going to take in the future. We found out tonight that Berta is going to stay on as the housekeeper. Berta is just totally infatuated with Ashton Kutcher, Walden Schmidt; during her first couple days working for him. She even got to take part in a skinny dipping outing with Alan and Walden one night when the boys were drunk.
As far as Alan's fate goes, the show starts out with Alan leaving the beach house and moving in with his mother. He accidentally leaves Jake at the beach house. As a viewer you get the impression that Alan will be living with his mom for a while; but by the end of the show he is moving back into the beach house; a predictable move if you have followed the show at all.
Kutcher's character, Walden, is developed a little more during this episode. We find out that he, like Charlie, has an eye for the women. And, we find out that his character is not going to be particularly bright, at least as far as common sense goes. We also find out that he is still madly in love with his wife and that he really wants to get back together again. The end of the show featured Walden talking with his wife at the beach house.
This episode had a few humorous spots; but overall wasn't really very funny. Hopefully, future episodes will draw a few more laughs. The verdict still remains out as to how successful the sitcom will be. I believe the writers need to be careful not to make the show too similar to the way it was with Charlie Sheen. The show will need to be very much the same and very much different then it was with Sheen; a difficult batter to blend.
